The Japan Motor Industrial Federation (JMIF; Chairman: Hiroshi
Okuda) will conduct an explanation meeting for exhibitors of the 36th Tokyo
Motor Show - Commercial Vehicles - (2002), which will be held in the autumn
of this year. The meeting will take place on Friday, January 18 from 3:00 p.m.
to 4:15 p.m. at the Keidanren Kaikan (Room 1002), and will include explanations
of the plan outline for the show, the basic layout plan of the exhibition, and
display regulations.
Reception of exhibit applications for the 36th Tokyo Motor Show began in September
of last year and will close on Thursday, January 31, 2002, and preparations
for the Show this autumn will get fully underway thereafter.
This year's commercial vehicle Motor Show will be the second event since the
1999 separation of the Show into a passenger/motorcycle exhibition and a commercial
vehicle one. This will also be the first show to be held by the Japan Automobile
Manufacturers Association (JAMA) following the merger of the JMIF with JAMA.
The scale of this year's Motor Show will be roughly the same as that of the
previous Show, with plans to use Halls 1-8 of the Makuhari Messe (exhibit area:
approx. 29,000 m2). The display layout will be arranged to ensure an unobstructed
view of the entire venue and smooth visitor traffic, with commercial vehicle
makers located on the south side and body makers on the north side (near the
station).
For the benefit of business users, the period of the show will be extended by
one day in comparison to the previous Commercial Vehicle Show to a total of
five public show days and the final day will be a Sunday, to make it easier
for general users to attend. Following is the outline of the Motor Show schedule
