The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA) welcomes the consensus in principle which has been reached between the governments of Japan and Bangladesh on an economic partnership agreement.

We wish to convey our respect and gratitude to the officials of both the Japanese and Bangladeshi governments for the very considerable efforts they invested in the negotiations leading to this agreement.

For the automotive industry, which operates worldwide, the conclusion of this new economic partnership agreement is expected to further promote free trade and enhance the competitiveness of the global automotive sector.
