Report on COVID-19 Occurrence and Control & Prevention Measures by Our Member Companies

Akio Toyoda, Chairman
Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc.

In response to the recent confirmation that two employees at the headquarters of JAMA member company Hino Motors, Ltd. have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, Hino has announced that, in cooperation with the health center concerned, it is proceeding with rigorous infectious disease control measures.

Control measures have included identification of the co-workers who were in close contact with the stricken employees, sterilization of company work spaces and the temporary closure of facilities, while wider preventive measures include the promotion of remote work (teleworking) and requests to personnel to quarantine themselves at home when circumstances justify it.

Recognizing that this is an issue that concerns the entire industry, JAMA member manufacturers will continue to remind their employees of preventive measures to be practiced in the fight against COVID-19 and will upgrade the monitoring of their health conditions. We will be providing regular information updates as the situation evolves and adopt additional measures as required to help prevent the spread of infection.
