JAMA Welcomes the General Accord on the Japan-Chile Economic Partnership Agreement

Fujio Cho, Chairman

The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA) welcomes the conclusion of a general accord between Japan and Chile on the plan to enter into an economic partnership agreement.  In recognition of this achievement, we would like to express our deepest appreciation to the Government of Japan and to the esteemed organizations and individuals who were instrumental in the realization of this very important step forward.

Chile has already established free-trade agreements with 43 nations, including the United States, South Korea, and the EU countries.  For the Japanese automobile industry, this latest accord is particularly significant.

JAMA is confident that the signing of the Japan-Chile economic partnership agreement will further promote trade between and investment in both countries, thereby expanding and strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation that our two countries enjoy.
