(JAMA) will hold the 46th Tokyo Motor Show 2019 over a period of 12 days from October 24 through November 4. With \u201cOPEN FUTURE\u201d as its theme and with the participation of 186* companies and organizations from seven countries around the world, the show will offer thrilling vehicle displays and entertaining events, and also enable visitors to see what mobility will look like and how it will be integrated into the urban living experience of the not-so-distant future.<\/p>\n<p class=\"fs_xxs ta_right mt0\">*as at July 30<\/p>\n<div>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/release\/docs\/release\/2019\/20190730_01.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"288\" alt=\"The 46th Tokyo Motor Show 2019\">\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/release\/docs\/release\/2019\/20190730_02.png\" width=\"550\" height=\"111\" alt=\"The 46th Tokyo Motor Show 2019 OPEN FUTURE\">\n<\/div>\n<p>The \u201cOPEN FUTURE\u201d concept vividly reflects the open-ended scope of possibilities that the exciting new mobility of the future will embody, in addition to the basic enjoyment that motor vehicles and motorcycles provide to their users. This year\u2019s show will demonstrate that the potential of the future is always expanding at the Tokyo Motor Show.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"common_ul mt_lh\">\n<li><strong>OPEN to the future<\/strong><br \/>\n\t\t    Special excitement will be generated at this year\u2019s Tokyo Motor Show through programs and events that have been conceived and organized on the basis of close collaborative efforts with other industries (see <a href=\"\/release\/docs\/release\/2019\/20190730_eng_Outline_of_the_46th_Tokyo_Motor_Show_2019.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Attachment 2<\/a> herewith).  In addition, JAMA and the All Japan Business Committee will co-host the \u201cFuture Expo\u201d event along with Japan\u2019s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).<\/li>\n<li><strong>An expanded, wide-OPEN venue<\/strong><br \/>\nIn addition to Odaiba\u2019s Ariake area, where the Tokyo Motor Show has until now been held at Tokyo Big Sight, the venue for this year\u2019s show has been expanded to include, for the<br \/>\nfirst time, the Aomi area. The show\u2019s venue will also include the new \u201cOpen Road\u201d connecting the Ariake and Aomi areas, to create one vast \u201cmobility theme park\u201d for visitors to the show.<\/li>\n<li><strong>OPEN access to designated venue zones<\/strong><br \/>\nVarious zones within the Tokyo Motor Show venue will be accessible free of charge, to encourage people who might not otherwise visit the Tokyo Motor Show to come and enjoy show-related exhibits and activities.  See details below.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5 class=\"mt_lh\">46th Tokyo Motor Show 2019 Dates &#038; Venue<\/h5>\n<p><strong>Dates:<\/strong>\tOctober 24 [Thu] through November 4 [Mon\/National holiday], 2019 (12 days)<br \/>\n<strong>Venue:<\/strong>\tAomi Area\u2013Open Road\u2013Ariake Area (including Tokyo Big Sight, Aomi\/West\/South Exhibition Halls, MEGAWEB, Symbol Promenade Park, Drive Park)<\/p>\n<div class=\"image_clm1\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/release\/docs\/release\/2019\/20190730_eng_tms_map.jpg\" alt=\"Tokyo Motor Show map\">\n<\/div>\n<h5 class=\"mt_lh\">1. DRIVE PARK (no-charge-access zone, ticket required for test drives\/rides)<\/h5>\n<p>The designated area for hands-on fun with different kinds of vehicles!  Events and activities held here will appeal to a broad public, not just to established car and bike enthusiasts, and will include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"common_ul mt_lh\">\n<li>Test drives of latest-model cars and bikes, stage events, and demonstration runs<\/li>\n<li>Racing and custom-built car displays, with the collaboration of Tokyo Auto Salon and MotorSports Japan<\/li>\n<li>The official Japan premiere of the FAI Drone Race (tentative), with world-class players competing at high speed in nighttime skies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/release\/docs\/release\/2019\/20190730_04.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"225\" alt=\"DRIVE PARK\"><\/div>\n<h5 class=\"mt_lh\">2. OPEN ROAD (no-charge-access zone, ticket required for mobility rides)<\/h5>\n<p>The 1.5 km-long \u201cOpen Road,\u201d a showcase feature of this year\u2019s Tokyo Motor Show, will link the Ariake and Aomi areas in the show\u2019s venue.  Personal\/micro-mobility models will help you on your journey along the Open Road, where exhibits and displays will feature wide-ranging examples of land\/sea\/air mobility.<\/p>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/release\/docs\/release\/2019\/20190730_05.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"444\" alt=\"Open Road\"><\/div>\n<h5 class=\"mt_lh\">3. FUTURE EXPO (no-charge-access zone)<\/h5>\n<p>At the \u201cFuture Expo\u201d event in the MEGAWEB venue, visitors will have a \u201ctypical day in the near future\u201d experience. Participating in the exhibit will be 61 companies and organizations, including members of the All Japan Business Committee such as NTT, Panasonic, NEC, and Fujitsu. Visitors will view and interact with the more than 100 items and cutting-edge technologies and services on display.<\/p>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/release\/docs\/release\/2019\/20190730_06.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"334\" alt=\"Future Expo\"><\/div>\n<p>In the Aomi Exhibition Hall, an \u201cimaginary city at work\u201d will be set up, in collaboration with KidZania, where children will don the uniforms and \u201cperform\u201d the work of specific professions in the services sector.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, also at MEGAWEB, various exciting, high-profile e-Motorsports competitions featuring the use of \u201cGran Turismo Sport\u201d PlayStation\u00ae4 software will be held including:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"common_ul mt_lh\">\n<li>The global FIA Gran Turismo Championship 2019 World Tour 5 competition in which top players from all over the world will gather to race at the highest level<\/li>\n<li>The Under-18 All Japan Championships pitting against one another all 47 of the winners of the preliminary competitions held regionally throughout Japan<\/li>\n<li>The \u201cTMS2019 Exhibiting Manufacturers\u2019 Competition\u201d<\/li>\n<li>The \u201cOne-Make\u201d races (e.g., the \u201cGR Supra GT-CUP\u201d final) in which all the competitors drive the same specific vehicle model.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"ta_right fs_xxs\">&reg;PlayStation is a registered trademark of Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc.<br \/>\n\u3000Photo at right: &copy;2019 Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc.
