Japanese Automakers’ Overseas Production Statistics:
Second Quarter of 2014 and First Half Cumulative, Calendar 2014
Overseas vehicle production by Japanese automakers during the second quarter of calendar year 2014 totaled 4,393,657 units, a gain of 6.3% from the same quarter in the previous year. This outcome reflects expanded local production in all overseas regions, with the exception of the Africa and Oceania areas, during the quarter under review.
For the first half (January through June) of calendar 2014, overseas production by the automakers stood at 8,710,839 units, up 4.5% from the first half of 2013, also owing to expanded local production, except in Oceania.
