Odaiba Festival -Tokyo Motor Week 2012 - Event Outline Finalized

Tokyo, July 19, 2012-The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc. (JAMA), (Chairman: Akio Toyoda), will hold an activities-packed, fun-filled “Odaiba Festival-Tokyo Motor Week 2012" from Saturday, October 6 through Sunday, October 14 this year (mainly on the Saturdays, Sundays, and holiday) at different venues in Tokyo’s Odaiba waterfront area, offering visitors a highly enjoyable, dream-like experience of automobiles and motorcycles.

This event has been planned and finalized as follows by the Odaiba Festival-Tokyo Motor Week 2012 Executive Committee, whose members include JAMA member companies (eight automakers and three motorcycle manufacturers) as well as the members of the Tokyo Waterfront Urban Development Committee as a co-organizer and the Japan Automobile Importers Association.

Some people are not at all interested in automobiles or motorcycles – and this event reaches out especially to those people.  The event will be set up like a “school festival," where there is fun in store for all ages. For this reason we decided to have this be a festival in which everyone contributes equally to making it a success by removing the normally existing barriers between rival manufacturers and doing away with the usual relationship between companies and customers to cultivate as many automobile and motorcycle fans as possible. You will not need any detailed knowledge of automobiles and motorcycles, and even those who do not have a driving license are all welcome to join.
